When presented with a contract or agreement to sign, it is critical to ensure it covers exactly what you need it to and that it shields you and your business from any unacceptable risks.

Even if you are confident that a contract presented to you includes all the terms you need, you also need to verify that it is fair, unambiguous and compliant with the current law. As signing a poorly drafted or defined agreement can often result in a future business dispute that can be costly to resolve.

Your document review will be conducted by an experienced solicitor who will discuss the background and purpose of the contract prior to undertaking a comprehensive legal analysis of the agreement. Whist our review will be technical and based on the current law and regulations, we will always present our findings clearly in plain English.

​We offer two flexible reporting options depending on the detail you require from a legal review of your contract:

Option 1 - Key Points​​
After reviewing your contract we will provide a letter summarising the important clauses, areas of concern and recommendations for any further clarifications, additions or amendments.

Option 2 - Detailed Report
Along with the above letter highlighting the important points, we will also write a comprehensive report covering every clause in the contract, even if the clause contains little of concern or just very minor issues.

Once we receive your draft contract and requirements, we will confirm that we can assist and the fixed fee. After we have completed our new client checks, the legal review will generally take a few days to complete depending on the length of the document.

Contract Review - Detailed Report


A solicitor review of your contract providing a summary of key points and recommendations along with a detailed clause by clause report.
  • For a fixed fee we will:
  • Obtain your instructions on any specific aims or concerns about the contract
  • Conduct a comprehensive legal review of the contract documentation
  • Provide you with a letter of advice summarising any concerns or contractual points to be aware of
  • In addition to a summary letter, write a comprehensive report addressing each clause in the contract
  • Telephone call with your lawyer for any clarification on our advice letter, summary or detailed report
  • If required, provide an estimate of costs for any further legal work you may wish to action

The above costs are based on a standard UK contract of up to 15 pages in length with 11pt text size, however if your contract is longer or more specialised we will be pleased to provide you a customised quote. ​Unfortunately we cannot advise on contracts outside England and Wales and those relating to property (leases, land etc.) or financial services (shares, investments etc.).
